Happy Summer from our Site Administrator Mr. Michael Davis:
Hello Odyssey Families,
I hope you have been enjoying summer with your children and have had time to relax and spend some quality time together.
We are excited to welcome back our teachers on August 1st and our Odyssey Titans on August 12th. I am thrilled that your family is part of our Odyssey community and I look forward to welcoming our students back in August. I look forward to seeing you in person at our Final Summer Registrations on July 23rd and 24th. As the new school year is about to begin, I am excited about what the upcoming year will bring to the Wyoming campus and our Titan Scholars. We have new programs and electives that we cannot wait for your student to experience. We have added an ROTC program, Emergency Medical Responders (EMR) classes, and Business and Entrepreneurial Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses.
Also, we are offering Dual Enrollment transportation for our students attending Eastern Florida State College (EFSC) and Florida Institute of Technology (FIT). Please contact your child’s school counselor for more information if they are interested. We are also thrilled to announce that we will be increasing our computer 1 to 1 program for our high school students. The expansion of this initiative means that all students in grades 10-12, and select sections of 9th grade will have access to laptops full-time in their core classes. As Odyssey continues to grow, so do the opportunities and pathways for all of our Titan Scholars.
We are dedicated to developing our Gifted and Talented Education (GATEway) opportunities and need your support! We would love to have parent volunteer sponsors for enrichment programs such as Odyssey of the Mind, Future Problem Solving, Math League, and more. If you have a passion for supporting our students, please reach out to me via email or phone (below) so we can launch some of these high-quality endeavors.
I can be reached via email at davism@odysseycharterschool.com or via cell phone at 321-243-0494. Working in partnership, I know we can make this coming year enjoyable and successful for all of our Titan Scholars.
Warm Regards,
Michael Davis, M. Ed.

Cell Phone Policy
Odyssey Charter School Inc. Board of Directors recognizes the importance of communication and collaboration and provides several types of device access at the school for students to be productive in their learning. The Board also recognizes the importance of students communicating with parents/guardians in an emergency and provides access to school phones in each classroom and phones in the school clinic and administrative offices.
Pursuant to the Technology in K-12 Public Schools law (CS/HB 379), which took effect on July 1, 2023, section 1006.07(2)(f), Florida Statutes, now provides that "a student may not use a wireless communications device during instructional time, except when expressly directed by a teacher solely for educational purposes. A teacher shall designate an area for wireless communications devices during instructional time.” *Wireless communication devices include but are not limited to, cell phones and/or auxiliary/ancillary devices such as watches and ear buds.
To keep the focus on academics and to reduce unnecessary distractions, the school enforces the following regarding personal cell phone use on school campus:
Cell phones and all mobile devices shall be TURNED OFF when entering school campus.
Cell phones and all mobile devices shall be kept in a student’s backpack – not in clothing pockets.
Cell phones and all mobile devices are not allowed to be used in a classroom, library, common areas, or restrooms.
Cell phones and all mobile devices are not allowed to be used during transition times or between classes.
Cell phones and all mobile devices can be turned back on at the end of school day, after the dismissal bell, and used to communicate directly with parents/friends who are assisting in transportation.
If a student needs to make an emergency call during the day, they are to ask a teacher permission, get a pass, and come to the administrative offices to make the call.

Moment of Silence
(Florida House Bill 529 https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2021/529)
This bill requires a moment of silence to be set aside for public school students during each school day. We will set aside 1-2 minutes daily for a moment of silence during morning announcements following The Pledge of Allegiance. The bill does not allow teachers to make suggestions about the nature of a student’s reflection during these moments. We ask that you discuss the moment of silence with your children and make suggestions about how they should use this time. Students may not interfere with each other’s participation in the moment of silence.
