AVID and GATEway Field Trip

On Tuesday, Nov 5, Odyssey Titans in AVID and GATEway visited Daytona State College and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona, Florida.  Students learned about the specialties of each school, including the different majors offered and the cost of attendance.  At Daytona State, Odyssey Titans had several opportunities to speak with current college students and ask about their experiences.  They also walked the sprawling campus, shot hoops with the Division 1 basketball team, and hung out in the student union playing games.  At ERAU, students learned about flight-based majors, engineering, homeland security, and the school of business.  The ROTC presence was widely felt, with many students in uniforms and flight suits since four branches of the military have students on this campus.  The flight line offered views of the 100+ aircraft students fly and the Daytona International Speedway.  Both schools were very impressive, and students and chaperones started to consider enrolling.

Veterans’ Day Program

On Thursday Nov 7th, our school had the privilege of honoring the brave men and women who have served in the military during a special Veterans Appreciation Ceremony. Students, staff, and community members gathered to celebrate their sacrifices and contributions to our country. With heartfelt speeches and music performances by our Titan Band, the event was a meaningful tribute to those who have dedicated their lives to protecting our freedoms. Thank you to all of our veterans for your service and sacrifice!
