Science Inventions

Mr. Curry's 6th grade advanced and 7th grade standard Science classes are buzzing with innovation as students tackle pressing environmental issues. Inspired by the challenges of pollution, global warming, and extreme weather, young inventors are designing creative solutions. Their projects demonstrate a commitment to a sustainable future. These budding scientists are not only learning about the complexities of environmental problems but also actively contributing to potential solutions that could make a real difference in our world.

Speed Ball Motion Lab

These students in Ms. Hunt's Middle School Science class had to work in teams to describe an object's motion by making measurements to calculate its average speed. In each team, there was a builder, timer, ball catcher, and supervisor. This fun, hands-on experience not only deepened their scientific knowledge but also ignited a passion for experimentation and discovery.

French Club

Mrs. Pharel and Ms. Denard sponsor our French Club that meets every Thursday from 4:20 to 5:15. They learn French phrases and try to have conversations. They learn about French culture through games and food.

Nous aimons notre école et notre club de français !

Marine Biology

Dr. Caleb's marine biology class is currently studying the fascinating world of sea turtles and the devastating impact of plastic pollution on their diet. Students are learning about the sea turtle's reliance on jellyfish as a primary food source and how the similarity between plastic bags and jellyfish leads to accidental ingestion. Through research and analysis, students are gaining a deeper understanding of the dangers posed by plastic pollution, including intestinal blockages, starvation, and even death. By exploring this critical issue, students are developing a sense of environmental responsibility and the importance of reducing plastic waste to protect these magnificent creatures and their delicate ecosystem.
