Founder's Day and Campus Visit
We had a special visit by our founder, Ms. Constance Ortiz, on Friday. She toured the campus and stopped by some of the classes to share with students about her inspirational journey in starting Odyssey. She gave students the opportunity to ask questions and give their input on what they would like to see in the future at our school.
To celebrate Founder's Day and Odyssey's 25th Anniversary, students were shown the video below where Ms. Constance explains the special mission of Odyssey, while students and staff share their gratitude for our school.

Brevard Art Show Winners
The Brevard County School Board Art Show is the biggest juried show of the year. Congratulations to these amazing Titan artists for their creative contributions! All three of these students below won Merit Awards for their outstanding work.

Solar Eclipse
Titan Scholars watched a video to learn more about the total solar eclipse. Then, they walked through a simulation narrated by Mr Curry. Students were also reminded about necessary safety precautions when viewing the eclipse outdoors.
Special thank you to Dr. Caleb, Ms. Guslawski, Mr. Zelonski, and Mr. Curry for setting up this amazing demonstration. Also, a special shout-out goes to Ms. Young and Ms. Vannoy for ensuring that all students walked through the simulation. Great job, Titans!
AVID Car Wash
On Monday, AVID students had a successful fundraising Car Wash 2.0. Future Leaders of Odyssey
After weeks of practicing tone of voice, speed, improvisation, and body language, Marshall J. and Apple W. gave their first official speech where they demonstrated their skills in front of the public. As team Ms. Mora, Ms. Amanda N., Nicholas and Joshua we are proud of their progress.
Band Happenings
April 19th & 20th
Southern Star Music Festival
Thank you to everyone who donated and participated in our numerous fundraisers to make this trip happen! The OCS Wind Ensemble and support team will travel to Atlanta, GA to compete at the Southern Star Music Festival.
April 26th & 27th
District Solo & Ensemble @ Kennedy Middle School
Select students have worked to prepare small ensembles or solos for adjudication at this district level event. We have 63 students participating throughout the weekend ranging from 6th-12th grade.
May 2nd
Spring Concert @ OCS (gym) • Concert Begins @ 6:00 pm
Doors Open for Teachers/Staff @ 5:30 pm • Doors Open for Parents @ 5:45 pm
Please join us for the final band performance of the year! Prior to the performance there will be an art show set up in the courtyard featuring work from our talented art students. The concert will feature performances by our Beginning Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble. We will also be recognizing our marching band students and honoring our band seniors.
*For those that have attended performances in the past, we have a new concert configuration that should allow for more space than we had a previous performances. We will continue to have reserved seating for teachers/staff members.

Our Color Guard students have been working on individual and small group performance pieces in preparation for the 2024 Color Guard Showcase. The event will conclude with a performance of their superior rated Winter Guard Show, “We’re All Mad Here.”

SENIOR SPOTLIGHTS
Titan Senior Class of 2024
Jamaal Miller
Jamaal has attended OCS Jr/Sr since the second semester of 9th grade. He is outgoing and loves sports, including practice and games. He has enjoyed competing in Track and Field, playing Soccer and Basketball, and was proud to be the Varsity Soccer Captain. Jamaal’s favorite staff member is Ms. Griffith because she kept him going through senior year, and he is grateful for her support.
Asja Miranda
Asja has attended Odyssey Jr/Sr since 10th grade and loves anything related to the beauty industry. She will attend cosmetology school at Easter Florida State College in the fall and is excited to fulfill all her dreams while making people feel good. Her favorite Senior year memory was all the funny dress-down days and goofy group pictures. Asja says of Ms. Griffith, “ I love her with my full heart. She has done nothing but be my guiding light in this whole journey, and I can’t thank her enough for everything she does for me.”
McKayla Johnson
McKayla has attended Odyssey Jr/Sr for four years. She received a Senior Superlative for “best smile” which makes her happy since she has had braces for many years. McKayla is proud to be President of the club Fellowship of Christian Athletes and has been in the marching band for four years. Her favorite Senior year memory is Homecoming because she loved dressing up and taking pictures with all her friends. She will miss riding the bus with her sister every day and seeing her in the hallways. McKayla will also miss her teachers, especially Ms. Lewis because she cares for her students and makes them laugh.
